Insiders | 

The Insiders is a collection developed from an ongoing visual diary project Flatlanders that started at the end of 2016, from some simple daily doodles to a series of refined drawings. The project consists of figurative drawings, predominantly self-portraits, and some still life and abstract patterns. From time to time, I put collections together to reveal to a small local crowd the way I see, behave and live in a particular time. The Insiders documented some lockdown moments of me and a few friends during April and May 2022 in Shanghai. Revisiting the pieces presented me with an opportunity to contemplate the recent past. The collection is an appreciation of friendship during the hard time.
